The month starts off with a bang with the St.Tammany Parish Fair. The fun continues with these popular events that offer something for everyone every weekend (and even during the week!)

St. Tammany Parish Fair
Fair season begins on September 28 with plenty of Midway rides, agricultural and horticultural exhibits, talent shows, and irresistible food at the Fairgrounds in Covington. Things really get going Friday morning with the parade that you won’t want to miss!
You can grab a All Midway Rides pass for Friday for $15 or for the whole weekend at $20. Entrance fees all week prior to Saturday & Sunday are $2 after 3:00 p.m.; the fair wraps up on October 2.
Louisiana Wildfowl Festival
Why not get your gobble on a little early? The 39th Louisiana Wildfowl Festival will take place on Saturday, October 1 (9 a.m. - 6 p.m.) and Sunday, October 2 (9 a.m. - 4 p.m.) at the Castine Center at Pelican Park in Mandeville. Artists can enter carving, wildlife fine art and photography contests!
Visitors are sure to enjoy all the gorgeous art work, delicious food, fun raffles, and live birds on display from the Audubon Zoo. This festival is easy on the pocketbook too. Admission is $5 for adults, $1 for children, and free for competing artists.
Rockin’ the Rails Concert Series
Take in free music every Thursday in October at the Covington Trailhead!
The popular series kicks off the 11th season on October 6 and is completely free to the public. Beginning at 5 pm, the concerts wrap up at 7:30 p.m.; guests are encouraged to explore Downtown Covington after the show!
Fall for Art
The St. Tammany Art Association and Painting with a Twist have come together to present Fall for Art, a free event throughout Downtown Covington showcasing local and national artists.
This is the premier art event of the fall, by the wonderful folks who bring you the second Saturday Art Walks & their companion spring festival, Spring for Art.
Enjoy live music, art demonstrations, shopping at nearby businesses and more surrounding the St. Tammany Art Association, located at 320 N Columbia St, on October 8 from 6-9 p.m.
Madisonville Wooden Boat Festival
Now in its 27th year, the Madisonville Wooden Boat Festival brings together carnival rides and just about every kind of boat including spectator, classic, and wooden boats for viewing. There are also fine arts and crafts, boat building contests, parades, live music and even a beer garden so a good time will be had by all!
The festival runs from October 8 - 9, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. at the Mulberry and Water Streets along the Tchefuncte River in Madisonville. Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for seniors, free for children under 12 and active military members.
OLL Festival of the Lake
Our Lady of the Lake will have their 34th annual Festival of the Lake from October 14 - 16. This popular family event features delicious food from local restaurants, live music, rides and games.
Highlights include The Battle of The Bands and the Festival Race and Fun Run.
The event is free, but you’ll need to purchase tickets for the entertainment (pro tip: purchase ahead of time for a discount!) The fun begins 5-11 p.m. on Friday, October 14, and continues at 11 a.m.- 11 p.m. on Saturday, October 15, and from 11 a.m.- 5 p.m on Sunday, October 16.
Monster Mash Fun Fall Family Festival
Get your costumes on and be on the lookout for our team at the St. Tammany Parish Hospital Parenting Center’s annual fundraiser on October 15. The much-loved Trick-or-Treat Village & cookie decorating are always big hits with even the littlest festival-goers! Entertainers, inflatables, games, snacks, and arts & crafts round out the event, held at the Bogue Falaya Park.
Tickets are $15 per child, $5 per adult when purchased in advance. Day of tickets can be purchased for $20 per child, $10 per adult; all the fun aside from concessions are included!
