The Attorney on staff, Blake Harveston, has over 40 years experience in the real estate title industry as well as oil and gas industry. They have 4 full time commissioned Notaries Public and 2 Certified Paralegals on staff. The team has been working for many months training to be ready for the upcoming CFPB changes this August. Our staff and software are up to date and ready!
What’s Title Insurance & What Does it Cover?
Title insurance protects you from losses that occur from various matters affecting the title to land, there are two basic types of policies: Owner’s policy to protect the owner, and loan policy to protect the bank’s mortgage. The title policy not only protects you against losses due to title claims covered by the policy, it also pays for the attorney’s fees and costs in defending the title.
Title Insurance insures that you are the owner of the property, insures against losses from any liens or encumbrances on the property except those listed in the policy, insures against your title being rejected by a subsequent buyer because it is unmarketable due to a title defect or lien, and it also insures you have a legal right of access to the property.
